I am a French historian of modern and contemporary history, colonial and postcolonial history, with expertise in political institutions, state-building, and women’s political participation. I have a strong interdisciplinary background in political science, international relations, and African political history.
I hold a degree in Political Science from Sciences Po Paris, specialized in African Studies at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), and completed my Ph.D. in History at the European University Institute (Florence). In 2025, I received my Habilitation degree from the Faculty of History of the University of Vienna. I am currently based at the Institute of Cultural Studies of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
